Lists William G age 53, wife Martha A age 47, daughter Mary R age 26 (a dressmaker), son Charles E age 20 (farm laborer), and daughter Effie D age 17 (at school). Notes William and wife married for 27 years. Indicates they had 6 children and only 3 are still living. Listed as a farmer. (doc)

1919 Jul 9 Salem Democrat: “Mary Gordon, the daughter of David and Lovie Gordon was born January 28, 1848 in Jefferson township, where she grew to womanhood. In the year of 1870, Dec 27, she was united in marriage to Thomas Bryan, to this union was born one son, Thomas Bryan, Jr. He husband preceded her to the Great Beyond Jan. 11, 1876. She was again united in marriage to Seth Boling of Plattsburgh, Oct. 17, 1900. While visiting her sister, Mrs. William Maupin, of Salem, she was suddenly stricken with paralysis, July third, and based [sic] to the Spirit World last Saturday evening at 7:00 o’clock. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, one son and wife, one brother, William Gordon, of Kossuth, three sisters, Sarah Gordon, of Plattsburgh; Mrs. A.C. Sutton, of Kossuth, and Mrs. William Maupin, of Salem. All who knew Mary will testify that her life has been that of a kind neighbor, true wife and loving mother. The funeral took place at Plattsburgh M.E. church Monday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock, conducted by Rev. F. L. Priest, of Salem. The remains were interred in the Plattsburgh cemetery.” (doc)
